Zachary Gleason is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. He has been practicing individual psychotherapy for over ten years in the greater Orlando area and has earned certifications as a Certified Clinical Military Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and is fully trained as an EMDR therapist. Mr. Gleason earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida, earned a Master of Arts in mental health counseling from Rollins College, and is currently a doctoral student in the area of clinical behavioral health at Arizona State University.
Zachary has practiced extensively with children and adolescents as well as trauma survivors with particular emphasis on veterans, first responders, and those affiliated with the medical profession. He has over five years of experience performing evaluations for veterans seeking their VA disability benefits, and coordinating with attorneys who fight for veteran benefits. Zachary practices an integrative style of therapy informed by EMDR and the adaptive information processing model, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and gestalt therapy, and focuses the majority of his practice on treating trauma survivors.
Zachary is a Florida native and lives in DeLand with his two children. He enjoys riding his motorcycle and training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Western Boxing, as well as running and cooking. Zachary comes from a family of medical professionals including physicians, nurses, and clinical laboratory scientists, as well as veterans, and his family culture strongly informs his clinical work.
